About Me
Career to date
My early career was in research including market research for brands like BT and Cadburys, scientific research for the NHS and a Home Office project with the police. After this, I moved into the fast-moving logistics sector, working for Unipart. I began on their Finance graduate scheme, qualified as an accountant (CGMA) but then progressed to run all aspects of an account as Account Director for a global technology brand. Since then I have worked as a consultant leading several large business transformations for companies like Vodafone. This experience has driven and informed my coaching specialism which is career transition.
Why did I become a coach?
I have always had a keen interest in human potential which I first explored with my Bachelor's degree in psychology. Unipart really valued the importance of investing in their people, so I was fortunate enough to experience mentoring plus lean and leadership training along the way. A pivotal moment for me was attending a leadership coaching programme where I gained an insight into the value of coaching and achieved an ILM L7 coaching qualification. I decided to cascade what I had learnt to my team of 500 and the results were immensely powerful. Performance levels became world class, we won internal accolades for people and customer engagement. This pivotal experience led me to study a Masters in Coaching and Mentoring at Oxford Brookes University graduating with a distinction.
Why transitions?
My work experience has driven and informed my coaching specialism which is career transition – I work with individuals from an initial thought, through decision-making to feeling comfortable with their choice. I feel most fulfilment working with people making tough decisions and get great personal satisfaction when they achieve clarity on their way forward. I am particularly drawn to those contemplating retirement which was the topic of my Master’s dissertation and now the focus of my organisational work.
